just curios how many in here ride without a helmet.

 

michigan, helmet law..... would even without the law..... someone took my husbands helmet off his bike at the restraunt, and he didn't like having to ride without it....

 

I've been the victim of a major head injury; I don't reccommend it. Wear a helmet, remember the people that love and depend on you.

 

I used to ride without a helmet. Then the front end of a silver Hyundai made me realize that was a bad decision. I wear a helmet now.

 

In my home state I'm required to wear a helmet. Just about 45 minutes north. I'm not required. When I'm in a state that doesn't require it, I usually do. Sometimes I don't.

However, I'm working to get the law changed in my state. Not that I won't wear one, but I don't think it's any of the freekin Governments Business if I wear a helmet or not!!

I also don't wear a helmet when riding in a Parade. We have been able to get that law changed in TN. If you're riding in a Parade where the speed will not exceed 35mph (wow, that would be a fast Parade) you are not required to wear a helmet.

 

Illinois has no helmet law. I use one 1/2 the time.

I think it's a personal decision that adults should be able to make on their own, without government "Big Brother" mandates.

That being said, I haven't worn one since 1972.

Wear one if you want (or are required by law), and if you don't want to wear one, don't...

Just kiddn' I have a 3/4 helmet. People keep telling me 'If you die, you die', I still feel better riding with a helmet.
Put it this way, it's your life, you can choose whatever you want.

 

Given a choice, I would always where a helmet. Given a choice between a law that mandates it and no law, I would choose no law.
