Default Hit a gnormous rock..crap!!!!

While on my way to complete the sportsters challenge...I hit a gnormous rock. It was completely my fault, guess I had my head up my *** and couldn't avoid it. Not sure how I didn't crash cause I'm pretty sure my front tire went air born. I pulled over and looked at the rim and there does seem to be a slight wave in it. I wasn't too far from my house and just drove it home slow. I didn't notice any difference when riding it home. My question is what should I be concerned about or look for and does the rim need to be replaced? I have a '06 883 custom. Thanks guys.

Jack it up, rig up some sort of pointer on the rim and give it a spin. See how much it is out of round if any. A dirty wheel can be deceiving too.

I wish I could say don't worry about it, but I recently just changed my laced wheel to a mag wheel from doing the same thing. I took my bike in to get my front tire changed and there was a wave in my rim and a handful of spokes were loose. I would put it on a jack and spin the front tire and see if you can find any wobbling or anything unusual then report back.

What's up, Danielle!?!?!?!

I wouldn't take any chances.... especially on a front wheel. Replace it.

I would do this to check it out. No reason to buy a new rim if there's nothing wrong with it, and checking it out as stated above will tell for sure.

Hey buddy..not much going on, hey why don't you just send me your front wheel? lol...I need to look over my wheel again if I just look at it you can't see anything only when I was riding it home and it was hardly noticeable. Hmmm we'll see..

Jack the front tire off the ground, take a pencile and just slightly touch the tire rim and tape the pencile to the fork. Spin the wheel, the pencile should make a mark on a defect, or youll just see the pencile touch the rim at the warped point. If its fine, you can also take said pencile and run it across the top of the tire tape both ends to forks and then spin tire, any highspots will rub, mark it and see how bad it is.

Atleast thats how ive tested tires in the past. The yellow will rub off onto an out of round tire.
