Default Front brake switch malfunction question

My front brake switch decided to start screwing up today. It's not broke but here's what it does:
when I release the brake lever it slides off(to the inside) of the lever so my brake lights stay on. If I slowly (and I mean slowly) release the lever it acts normal. It's like the button of the switch has too much slop in it's housing. What can I rig to make the handle longer or fix this problem w/out buying a new switch?

Theres a metal tab behind or around the switch, try bending that to make it more snug.

This. The tab holds the switch snugly in the housing. If it is loose or missing the switch will slide around a lot.

There is a tab on the end of the switch housing that breaks off very easily if you are not careful. If you look at the switch housing and all you see if the rubber bushing/housing, then you have broken off the tab and it will do exactly what you are describing.

The plastic button, that's centered in the rubber & is what makes contact w/the handle, is there. For some reason it has enough play in it that it is able to slide next to the lever, which allows it to fully extend, which causes the brake lights to come on.

mine is doing the same thing. the switch moves and sits in the housing crooked and i have no rubber boot anymore cause it was all tore up so i just ripped it out all together. i notice if i don't tighten down the top torx bolt on the control pod it works normal. the second i tighten it all the way, the lights start malfunctioning. stupid design but i lock tighted the torx and so far so good until i replace the switch completely.

Hey guys i just replaced my switch this weekend my lights were staying on. It was really easy to do rather than hassle with the rigs. I bought my switch at jp cycles for 16 bucks.
