Depending on your leg length (inseam), if going with the HD forward controls you might want to check the stock setup from the pre-2004 1200C's.
One of the changes Harley made with the 'new improved' 2004 Sportsters was to move the forward controls 2 inches closer to the rider.
I'd rather have to forward controls used on the 2003 and earlier 1200C, as they would give me more leg room. The controls on my 2005 aren't bad, but they aren't nearly as far forward as on the other Harley's that have forward controls. In fact, the floorboards on models such as my Fatboy are much further 'forward' than the pegs on the Sportsters.
They did beef up the frame on the 2004+ rubber mounted models, and I don't know if the bolt mounting studs were also repositioned, but if not I'd sure use the forward controls from the pre-2004 1200C models.
You can see from the below pictures how close to the rider the forward controls from my 2005 1200C, and how they probably only meet the 'mid point' on the floorboards on my FLSTFI.

The stock Harley ones worked great for me and they have them stocked at your local dealer. (I installed the polished ones which are about 100.00 less than the chromed ones) Here are a couple pics of mine for you to ponder on. Note that pegs are an extra and theyare HD as well.
That should work for ya'

I haven't ordered from here yet,but their prices seem pretty reasonable compared to the HD Parts.
