Default OK to use the "friction zone" on Sportster clutch?

Is it OK to use the friction zone of the clutch with my 1200 Sportster?
I find using the friction zone when going a parking lot speeds is the only way to keep her moving smoothly.
Will the Sportster clutch handle friction zone operation????

Friction zone is for ANY bike, despite manufacturer, model, etc. It's a riding technique and skill.

Yep. The Sporty clutch is junk, but using the friction zone isn't going to effect the clutch. None of them I have replaced was due to wear on the friction plates, or anything from using the friction zone.

I'm impressed. Not just everybody knows about using the friction zone technique.

Do a search for Ride Like a Pro and Friction Zone. You'll get the jist of exactly what it is. Search Youtube.

Ride like a Pro is where I first heard of the term. Then I took an MSF class.
And since riding my motorcycle I use it everyday.

I have always used the friction zone in cars, and when I had my first bike, learned to apply it to that. I took a MSF course as well, and they were very thorough in teaching everyone to use it. It really won't hurt your clutch that much, that it's life will be shortened by 1000's of miles, unless you are gassing it way up there and barely letting the clutch out.
