I searched best price also, and came up with American Classic Motors when I bought my Straight Shots. Best price, and good communication. Good experience.
No idea, this is copied out of my account summary on their website, order placed on 6/8.
Order Summary
1 x Vance & Hines Shortshots Staggered - Chrome - 04-11 XL $303.95
2 x Vance & Hines Quiet Baffle $59.90
Maybe they fluctuate based on their competitor's pricing. If one has a sale, they drop their price. When the sale is over with, their price goes up to beat the next lowest competitor.
so whats the verdict? like em? change performance (i know they dont heighten it but did they lower it)? did you have to do anything else to the bike when installing em (tune, etc)?
by the way, the "quiet baffle" is not quiet. I can't believe how loud these pipes are. My ears are ringing after a 30 minute ride with a FF helmet on.
I thought I should amend my own comment in case it turns anyone off to these pipes.. they got dramatically quieter after awhile, they're not too loud at all. That or I went partially deaf.

I didn't notice a difference with these over stock pipes with the baffles knocked out.. but my spidey-sense-dyno isn't very sensitive. As for the tune, personally I wouldn't change pipes without also changing the breather and a tune.. but you can get away with just pipes if you leave your stock air cleaner on. For the price of an xied and an after market AC I'd do all three at once.
