Default rear tire change

I took off my rear tire. does the sprocket and disc brakes have to come off to mount a new tire?

Yes, they do. Usually.

But the person that is going to mount the tire usually expects to take those off and re-install.

That is not always necessary. I had new rubber put on my Ultra Classic today. That guy did it with the brake rotors in place. And in that case, the front wheel has 2 brake rotors. Just depends on the equipment.

It depends on the equipment used to R&R the tire, but normally only the sprocket has to be removed from the rear tire. The wheels can then be placed on the changer rotor side up. My indy never removes the rotors when changing mine.

Regardless, if they need to come off or not, take them with you. You want those things attached to the wheel when it's balanced.
