electrical -vs- combustion
My 1980 sportster has had it's issues. I thought I've been having combustion issues. Sputtering in 2nd -3rd gear, dying on me randomly, etc. Thinking I had water in my gas, maybe problems with mixture ratio of Sea-Foam. I've torn my carb apart several times. I get down the raod and it dies. This time, I'm pissed. I pull the plug to see if I'm getting a spark. NOTHING! Pulled the headlight, played with the wires. Fires right up. Wiggle some more and it dies. You get the picture. Electrical it is!!!!
questions:
1. Crane electronic Ignition module setting... race mode or OEM/ something or other?
I'm completely doing away with the pin connectors in the headlight assembly.
2. Spade connectors with dielectric grease or solder? Any pointers soldering? Has anyone used a torch/butane solder gun?
I'm sorry, that's probably a lot to ask. I've posted in the electrical threads before with minimum or no replies so I thought I'd ask here.
