How much oil?
#21
One other question, since this is my first time changing the oil myself. I'm actually in the process of doing it as I type this. Just drained the oil (not the oil filter yet), and it looks like I only got a little over 1 quart of oil (using the measurement in the oil pan I'm collecting it in). Is that normal? I don't see how I'm going to get another quart plus out of the oil filter. to add up to around 2.7-2.8 quarts.
I bought 3 quarts for the oil change.

Also give it time to drain both in the upright position as well as on the jiffy stand.

If you used a wrench to remove a plug, you drained the primary.

I actually didn't check the oil level before (should have). It's been about a thousand miles now since I had the 1200 conversion done on it, so I wanted to get any metallic bits out of the oil. I ended up putting in almost the entire third quart.
And yes, I emptied and checked with the engine hot.

Definitely my mistake for not having checked the oil level before hand. If it was low, looks like it was about a quart low. I've never seen the oil light come on though. I'm heading out to give it a ride around the block to make sure nothing is leaking and I'll check the oil level again when I get back.
