starting after winter storage
hello every one, just wanted to hear what every one thought is the best way to start up your bike after being in winter storage. I live in minnesota and there is just too much damnsand out onthe roads this year so it will be a while before my 2006 1200c is started up. last winter i was able to take it out a couple of times. My bike is covered, tires are off the sement, and the battery is sitting in the basement on a battery tender.

RE: starting after winter storage
The best way to start your bike after the winter? Simple. Stog the battery back in it, gobble down about8 or 9 MGD, three doubles of Captain Morgan Dark and crank that bad-boy over till she barks. When thats accomplished, start waxing. Don't forget to finish off the MGD and the Captain.......AARRRRRR!

I would at least pull the plugs and give each cylinder a small squirt of 5w/20w oil/gasoline in a 50%/50% mixand then crank the engine for about one minute with the plugs still out. Then I would replace the plugs and crank up. The exhaust is going to smoke just a little, but at least those bone dry cylinder walls and piston rings will have just a little oil on them before actually firing up. That is what we did with brand new aircraft engines in Alaska upon installation. It seemed to work like a charm. ............ BC
