It's more than just an oil and filter change. I did my own 1000 mile service and several things were a little off. I bought mine used with 1100 miles and it had never been serviced.

I bought a rear belt tension tool, rear belt was slightly loose, primary chain needed adjusting, clutch adjuster took a couple of turns and I changed oil and filter. I did go to synthetic, Mobil 1 V-Twin in the engine and primary.

The throttle needed adjusting. Wide open only opened the butterfly a little more than 3/4.

The rear wheel was slightly misaligned too. After the service it ran a lot better.

 

I dont know a lot about engines and I just hit 1400 miles. I think Ill park it until Tuesday and leave it with adding Synth Oil. Thanks for the info.
