Default Highway Pegs/Mounting Options

Anyone have any experience with either of these highway peg options on an Iron 883 or any other sportster?

I like the mid controls, but I want the option to stretch out on the highway. There doesn't seem to be too many options out there for black highway peg mounts. I know that I could powder coat a set if I had to, but I'm trying to avoid that for now and keep the cost low. Can anyone confirm that the Iron 883 frame is 1-1/4 inches as the Rivco mounts are made for? Any help or advice is appreciated.

i don't know about those pegs. do you have a engine guard you plan on sticking pegs on? The frame mount ones look interesting. I have mids as well and was planning on some day just adding pegs where forward controls would go. this way i can stretch if i want to

If you don't have an engine guard and don't have forward controls, these work quite well:

Got mine when my custom made highway mustache bar was missing after a service from the HD dealership and they had no idea it was missing and replaced it with these. Adjustable to 3 different positions.

One bad thing is that they only make a chrome version so if you have a blacked out bike, you probably want to have them powder coated as you mentioned.

I have the below set up on my 883 and they work great. I was just like you, love the mid's for city driving, but these allow you to stretch out on the highway or longer rides. They mount very easily, and take the place of where the forward controls would go. I could only find them in chrome, but I plan on having them powder coated down the road, or Plasti-Dip them. Hope this helps!

Those look identical to the DS ones that I listed but much cheaper. The stealership bought mine so I opted for the ones in the catalog instead of ebay.

For really long trips, highway pegs just add more pressure to your tail bone. If you have passenger pegs and no passenger, try putting your feet on those.

The trick is to find a dealership that breaks **** every time you leave it for service and they have to end up replacing it

This way you get new stuff but finding a dealer that doesn't break **** all the time might be the better option!
