The ones you're showing on the HD link look like they belong on a bagger or something else with floorboards and engine guard not you sporty. I got some chrome units just for a sporty with mids straight out of the HD catalog that I love. They bolt right up the the frame just in front of the front motor mount, 3 way adjustability. Fit & finish are perfect. Sorry don't have a part number. They were around $200.

I don't have an engine guard and won't be getting one. The RIVCO frame mount setup sounds like what I want but I'm not positive that it will work. They are also a little expensive so I definitely want to be sure it's going to work out.

Anyone know if the HD mounts are different for a 2003 and below sportster? I found a set on eBay for cheap.

Most of the ones listed, and mine are for 04-up XL, it appears you can use the Rivco's for 2003...

That is what I am trying to find out.

Warrick, I saw the fitment details that you highlighted, but it also mentions that they will fit many other Harley models that have a 1-1/4 inch frame. I looked closely at the pictures that are shown for the Rivco setup and then looked at my Iron to see if it will work. It looks like it might be a tight fit due to wiring and other "stuff" that might be in the way.

Cool Same set up on eBay with Pegs

this will probably be your cheapest way if you don't have some pegs laying around...

same set up as the other link on eBay, but this one includes pegs.

Those are the same ones I have except mine are chrome. If you get them from Harley they come without the pegs - it's just the mounts. Then you have to purchase pegs seperately so yea it's a little expensive but like I said fit is perfect, very sturdy and it's nice to have options for foot positioning.
