Default Brand new 2003 883 sportster

I recently got a 2003 883 sportster with extremely low mileage on it. Under 50 miles. It hasn't been started in about 4 years. It still has the original break-in oil in it. Do you think it willl be ok to use this oil still or should I have new break-in oil put in it?
Thanks

I would change the oil and the filter! Drain the gas. Change the transmission fluid. If it were mine, I would probably change out several more things also. I would spend what ever it took to make sure I wouldn't have problems. I think you are supposed to change the oil, even if you don't ride much at least once per year, or maybe sooner. That makes me think other stuff probably needs to be changed out also. This is just my opinion.

Congrats on the great find. I would change all of your fluids if it has been sitting that long.

Damn, I thought my 04 with just 2200 was a good find.

Oils break down over time, you'll definitely want to replace all the fluids, especially fuel.

What Justusm said, change all fluids and check the entire bike out. Great find Chip!

Wow what a steal! Hard to believe someone would buy a bike and only put 50 miles on in 10 + years.

I would definitely change out the oil and gas in it. I might even have a mechanic check it out to ensure nothing else has corroded or broken down over that time.

How are the tires would be my next question.

There is no such thing as break in oil.....where did you get that from?

Congrats on the garage find...guessing someone bought it for the "anniversary" label & expected value to rise like gold market. Anytime I buy used = "full" service so time to get some fluids & tools.
