Default Oil leak at cap?

Hey everyone, took my Iron 883 out today for the first time. brand new 2012. put 130 miles on her. When I was at about 110 miles I got off for the first time and noticed oil was leaking form under the trim around the oil cap. it had leaked all the way down the oil tank shield (metal part) cleaned it up quick with a rag and rode home, little build up under neath the brushed silver trim piece that surrounds the oil cap. Its not like its pouring out at all, just a slight drip down the side of the tank. Any idea what would be causing this? first thought was that the tank was overfilled with oil, checked it and its right in the middle between full and empty.

bad oil tank cap? thoughts?

Thanks

There is too much oil in the tank. Overfilled by either moco or dealer. Suck some oil out and it will quit pumping it out the top.

Thanks. I will have to consider that if I dont get other ideas.

Like I said, the oil level on the measure stick on the cap shows oil is halfway between low and full. So I don't think its overfull. but Im still new to my bike.

Anyone else have ideas? I am gonna ride up to the dealer today. have a warranty might as well use it.
