Default Sportster 48 Clip Ons

What brand did you go with for your clip ons? I'd need 39mm correct? Love to see some pics. Love the look, but is it worth breaking your back? Would you do it again? I went with a straight drag bar, so I'm pretty close to getting the cafe look. But, I'm worried I may regret lowering the bars those couple of inches. More importantly, what did you do with your brake reservoir tubing etc. did it require mods to all those things on the bars currently. The 48 front end is unique and want to see what you did to make them work. I know I'll have to some grinding to the top etc because HD built everything in...

i have them on my Nightster..Personally i think you will struggle to enjoy them because you have forward controls (just my opinion)
Meanwhile i love em on mine

Ahh, looks like RSD. Looks great. Seems like you just tucked the resevoir tubing under the clip-on in the opposite direction. I think I'm going to do it. I ALMOST have enough "points" saved up at my local HD dealer for a $200 credit with them. So, I might order the clip-ons, or the RSD clarity line Derby Cover basically free of charge. I figure, what the hell...Thanks for the pics. Damn, you're a set of RSD Black Ops Boss wheels, and you have their cafe racer. Love it. I wish I could find a Nightster front end on something like Kreggslist, nothing. With the 48 essentially having a Wide Glide front end on it. Alotta parts just don't work. For example ordered some Alloy Art Speed Down bars. Thought it would have looked great and would have been a nice compromise to having to grind down the top of the tree, but of course everything was too wide and didn't fit. Cost me a restocking fee even tho Den K told me they would work when I ordered them. I totally agree with the forward controls part...Learning the hard way

Oh great...What turn signals are those? I am looking for something like that. As I mentioned, I went with a drag bar at the moment and it forced me to the lower the turn signals. Quite frankly, they stick out like 2 sore you know whats and totally ruin the lines. I would get rid of them completely, but in some of the burbs I already get heat for being too loud. The less attention I get, the better. That means having front signals...

Mine fit with all OEM cables. The brake line was tight, but it worked.

Hog, they'll tell you anything to make the sale. Trust me. Nothing fits right on that damn 48. Ive already been warned, have fun altering the foot controls! I REALLY need to chop the rear fender up a little bit.
