Default Leaking Grease

I just bought my first Harley an '01 sportster 1200 custom been riding it for a few months now and while washing it yesterday noticed a ton of grease coming out of what might be called the steering head. I've attached some pictures. Can anyone shed some light on the subject for me? is this a broken seal? do i need to worry about it? I know you can grease the fork stem. Just any info would be helpful.

Thanks,

I think there's a clue there somewhere.

Right, does this happen if a seal breaks though? or should I just clean it and grease it.

It's perfectly fine. Just clean it up. When it gets hot the grease eventually leaks down and can drip. The fact that it is leaking out means it is full, which is good.
