Default Rush slip-ons for 2012 XL1200C

I just got my brand new XL1200C and I love everything about it except for how quiet it is! The salesman at the dealership said that you could put Rush slip-ons without any adjustments or modifications to the intake or fuel map. Has anyone done this? Is there much of a difference in sound? The slip-ons are pretty reasonably priced and would be cherry to install. All I'm looking for is a little more sound. Right now I can hear the engine more than I hear the exhaust. When I decide I want more performance I'll have it opened up and dyno tuned.

Thanks

Only changing the mufflers you don't have to do anything else to the bike

As far as the sound goes do a search on youtube for them

Good Luck

Rush has slip-ons with baffles that range from 1.5" to 2.25" with sound levels appropriate to the baffle size and are of very good quality. See videos here....

As an alternative I recently installed Khrome Werks HP+ 2.5" slip-ons on my '12 C and they sound and perform great.

I'm going to pick up my Rush Mufflers with 1.75 baffles for my Forty Eight either today or tomorrow. I'll let you know how different they sound once I get them installed, if I can find the time to not be at work that is...

As always, being a first time owner I am also somewhat concerned about my "warranty". As far as I can tell, the owners manual says that you will void the warranty if you modify or use parts that are not approved for legal on road use. The Rush pipes are legal so I should be golden. Maybe I should still call my dealer....

Slip-ons will not void your warranty.

Do any of you know what size exhaust clamps to get? They should be replaced right?

Just swing by the dealer to get a couple clamps and crossover tube gaskets. Less than $20 for all 4 items.

Does anyone have a set of these and can verify they are stamped EPA? I thought a read somewhere that they are 50 state legal and EPA compliant but now I can't find anything in writing...
