Default What to look for in a Sportster

Hello, looking for a Sportster for my wife. I think I am looking for an 888 due to her size, anyway, are there any particular year Sportys that should be avoided or looked for. Probably looking to spend around $5000.
Thanks

nothing in particular that should be avoided from what iv heard. i believe 2007 and upwards are all EFI any before that will be carb.
i think in 2004 they changed the shape of the frame, so if your gonna be looking for parts and mods then this should be taken into consideration.

apart from that, happy shopping, and keep us updated on what you get

The '04 and up Sportsters have the rubber mounted engines which minimize vibration greatly, and '07 and up are EFI. Nothing wrong with the '04-'06 carbed models, just a distinction that the fuel injection was introduced in '07. Personally, I would look around for a 1200, although the 883 you should find in abundance in the price range you have set.
