That's too bad. . .I love the looks of the 48 and the new 72 but a 2.1 gallon gas tank wouldn't cut it for me. It's nice to have the extra gallon and change on the nightster. I'd like to see them put the 3.3 peanut on the 48 and 72. It wouldn't change the look much and you would still get over 120+ miles out of a tank.

I'm also glad I got one. Not that they'll disappear off the face of the earth

I bought the Nightster over the 48 mostly for the tank. Granted you can replace the tank easy enough, but I was buying used and got a good deal too.

I think the iron probably has more appeal to beginners, and the 48 seems like the more popular bike compared to the Nightster, so it makes sense I guess.

If HD offered a 1200 in the Iron, the Nighties probably wouldn't generate as much interest as they have.
As least then, saying Iron883 wouldn't sound so damn redundant.

But then, it would have been the "Blackster"

Night is never completely black. I actually prefer the greyed out look with the black accents. I think its more stylish than the all black look.

2007 to 2012 could be considered a long model run.

I venture like above will see a Blackster. Still with spoked 19 or 21 inch front rim and 10.5 rear shock lenght.

I like my grey engine and still consider the bike stylish.

I just ordered a 2012 nightster through the military program. I tried to get a 2013 but they said that there weren't any. So im pretty sure that there isnt.

The black Iron motor will look grey over time. I don't think the 48 will take the spot of the Nightster. I don't like that huge front tire/wide fork set-up. The 2.1 tank is fine though. You can go easily 90 mi on it and it doesn't look like the tank has swelled in the summer heat like the 3.3 does.

Isn't the stock shock length 11"?

Only reason I can really think of is that possible big twin buyers were scooping up nightys instead. I have a couple friends that would have a dyna if it wasn't for the N, possibly softails.

I don't think it will be gone forever though. It's too damn popular.
