You can use a stock caliper on a springer. Just buy or make a brkt.

This one is ugly but gives you an idea.

Thanks for the link on the bracket. that does give me an idea. Going to try messing with the pistons in the caliper after work. If I can't get it going I will probably try something similar to that with what I've got. Hate to think I paid $275 bucks for a caliper that will not work.

Think I've found the problem here. The only new part I didn't buy was a rotor. Would the thickness of the rigor need to be matched to the caliper? I wouldn't think it would make much of a difference. Would think that the difference in thickness would be minimal compared to pad wear. Still a little puzzled here.

No, not with brand new pads.

Yeah, brand new pads. I did find a temp. fix tho. I placed a shim behind one of the pads and bam, I had a solid lever pull. Guessing that master cylinder volume is the problem here as some one has already stated. Not sure what my next step will be. Either try and find a larger master that will match the other control set up or rebore the master. Not sure that the second of the two is an option.

The MC from a R model Sporty should give you the volume you need. The R model had dual front disc brakes (dual - 2 piston calipers).
