Default Keeping tires black

I know you're not supposed to use automotive-type tire shine/dressings on motorcycle sidewalls but what do people use to keep their tires black and sharp looking? Mine have a crummy looking brown haze on the sidewalls that looks terrible.

I use automotive stuff, I'm just very careful not to get any on the tread portion.
Rather than spray the tire I spray it on a rag and apply to the tire.

told my buddy not to do this one time, did it anyways, first rain he tried to stop down hill and went face first into a tractor trailer.

Tire shine=silicone=water solible

I use bleach white, and a pressure washer to clean my tires to the natural look of a new tire

The Harley Black stuff does a pretty good job,but is messy. Get some latex gloves, and the results are worth it.

harley makes a product called "harley black" which i purchased but have not applied to the tire yet. it looks like a black shoe shine liquid....it says it rejuvenates the tire sidewall and is recommended to use before a tire color pen....i dunno i was just looking to make the tires look clean and new. we shall see how it works soon.

There used to be a product called UV2 that was the best ever made for vinyl, rubber, plastic and leather but it has become impossible to find anymore. A very close second is Vinylex...both of these leave a satin shine and contain no silicone and no residue to attract dust.

Little known fact is plain old brake fluid is about the best thing you can apply to tire sidewalls...it's just fussy to fool with and requires some caution when applying.

I've had good results cleaning the tires with either bike bright or just scrubbing and rinsing off some simple green.

I use Simple Green as well as I have white walls and it cleans the road grime off the white and black side walls.
It's also environment friendly.
