Judging from the other replies, guess I started the more unconventional way: did the Riders Edge course and then bought the bike (05 Sportster Custom)

My dad taught me. I was without a bike for 10 years so before I got my Harley so I took the MSF course as a refresher and to waive the moto skill test for California DMV.

Initially on Dirt bikes as a kid someone always had a mini bike or dirt bike to ride. Am relearning now. People on this forum, Ride like a Pro dvd, a few book and web resources, the first MSF course, and saddle time.

5233 miles since August .. lots a fun .. (Cagers and Deer suck though)
