Default Changing stock bulb

I feel incredibly stupid asking this, but I am having a hard time changing my headlight bulb. I'm unable to remove the trim ring because the retainer screw is in a spot that I can not access with a screwdriver. It is almost perfectly lined up with the fork....so I can't fit even the smallest philips head in at an angle to create enough torque to unscrew it.

Am I completely missing something obvious here? Do I need to remove the little headlight hood first? It's driving me nuts, thought this would literally be a less than 10 minute job. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated, thank!

I took my trim ring off today to paint it. You may be able to aim the headlight to the right, left if facing the bike, ang get a better angle. If not, pop the cap off the headlight brow with a flathead, loosen the headlight with a 3/4 socket, and then do it.

Just remove the 2 bolts holding the eyebrow to the tree, then you can flip the whole thing over to remove the ring and you won't mess up your headlight aim.
