yeah, sporty, thats something i forgot to mention. the narrower the bar, compared to the bars that you're replacing, then your cables will be longer. but you don't necessarily have to change them then. you can ride with to long of a cable until you can save for the correct length ones. but if the bars are wide, then your cables might not be long enough. you need to check how much slack in your wires, cables, and brake line from the lock-to-lock position of your forks, not just with the forks going straight ahead. if you think that they "might" not be long enough then when you install your bars measure your cables so you can say, "well i need another inch longer than stock."
When I do this, I also want to use shorter risers. which means ditching the riser cover... which means exposing the wires from the speedo and everything else. what are yinz guys doin with your wires? Is eliminating the speedo legal?
there once was a post from a man with a bright idea to mount his speedo off the frame of the bike, down by the motor, pics and everything. I wish i knew where that thread was.
Are there any drag bars you can get that let the signals stay on the bars? I love the drag bars butwould like to leave my lights alone. '061200C Thanks.
