A wider bar might make you lean even more since your arms are farther out. Sounds like you need more pullback, but that might put your wrists at a funny angle. Drag bars look cool, but comefort is safety, and that's not worth sacrificing for looks. I guess maybe I'm lucky that I find them extremely comefortable. I might even try clip-ons one day.

You might get used to them real quick. My first bike had buckhorns, my first Sporty had drags. I hated them at first. I grew to like them so much that I replaced my '06 bars with the same drag bars off of my '01 Sporty.

Basically yeah. They mount directly to the forks. Two seperate smallbars. Think crotch rocket.

I didn't change any cables at all. Although I have changed it to dragbar, it is sitting at about the same height. Throttle and clutch cables are fine, I have to move the brake rubber hose bracket a bit for a better fit. I see that you live in mission bc, if you need any help or look at my bike, give me a shout, my bike is stored at my shop in Coquitlam. Later Alex

A couple of things to remember, if you have a peanut tank then don't get the pull back riser with the pull back bars or the switch housings will bang on the tank at idle.(the front end won't go lock to lock either, the bars smack the tank). another thing is the wider the bar (if it's a pull back bar, not broomstick) the easier the parking lot turning, the narrower the bar the harder it's going to be for tighter turns. but if you put a wider broomstick bar then thats when it becomes a comfort/safety issue because at small tight turns, you will have to let go of one end of the bar because your arm wont reach. third thing is, if you no what allen wrenches and torx bits are then you can change your bars. it take about an hour or less depending on if you have to change cables or not. if you have stock sporty bars and risers then you won't need new cables. if you put a huge freaking riser with a 50" drag bar or something stupid then yeah you'll need cables. but a good way to know about comfort is go to your local hd and find a bike with drag bars and sit on it, it'll give you an idea on close to what it'll feel like for you. i suggest that if you have the peanut tank then get around a 32" pullback bar with straight or stock risers, if you get the pullback riser then go with around a 30" broomstick bar. sorry so long

wanna

On my 1996 sporty I had the street slammer bar with the 7" intigrated riser loved em didnt have to lean alot to reach also had the fatbob (sportbob) tank so clearance wasn't an issue but with the tall riser it shouldn't be anyway
