You can do that ft/lbs to in/lbs conversion. But, if the specs call for 15 in/lbs...the precision of a ft/lbs wrench won't be accurate.

Harbor Freight would be fine for maintenance. I haven't stripped any thing or had anything fall off yet. I wouldn't use them for anything inside of an engine.

Do not even think about torqueing these small replaceable covers. see search and see my spill there as to why not clutch cover leaking; helicoil?https://www.hdforums.com/forum/prima...3B+helicoil%3F

84in/lbs is not much. To OP, one thing I would suggest, and I can't remember if it's in the service manual or not. Put some anti-seize on those bolts. If you don't, it won't matter how much torque to replace them with. It will take an act of GOD to get them out again.

Yes, that is the voice of experience you hear. And yes, acts of GOD have happened a few times in my garage. But, he's really busy and it takes a long time to get his attention.

Always buy good tools.

You'll have this torque wrench your entire life.

TW need to be calibrated ever so often.

You'll need two: a 1/4 drive for inch pounds and a 1/2 (with 3/8 adaptor) for 10 to 150 foot lbs

Sears is a good product at a good price.
Else Snap-On.

Also, torque wrenches are not very accurate near either end of their scale. You don't want to use a 10-150 ft/lb wrench if you're trying to torque 12 ft/lbs.
