lol
Progressive shocks $235
Other stuff needed:
Mustang seat with backrest and passenger pillion. $700 retail
Passenger bracket and pegs $100
Adjustable highway pegs. $150
K&N air filter and remap. $400 (It already has the V&H slip ons w quiet baffle)
Panacea rear light and signals $300
All the above are just to make it run better. lol I know we're all in the same boat. Not sure I'll have any money left over to do the tins or add the 4.5 gal tank. lol

FYI - If you're looking for a better ride, I suggest you go with the 12.5" or longer 412s. The Progressive 412 series come with 2 different "spring rates". The 12" and shorter 412s have a noticeably stiffer spring rate and provide a harsher ride than the => 12.5" 412s. At 220+ lbs I'd also suggest also use the HD version if you every travel 2up or with luggage.
Remember that the shocks are mounted at an angle and the added length doesn't increase the rear height of the bike proportionally. A 1" increase in shock length will only increase your ride height little more than 1/2".
I'm 215lbs and run the HD 12.5" 412s.

The 12.5" seems like the way to go. The majority of the time I'll travel solo. Rarely will I have a passenger. I'll travel occasionally. I just don't want the HD if the ride will be harsh even on the softest preload. It would sort of defeat the purpose. If, by some miracle, I should lose any significant weight than I'd be stuck. It kind of sucks being right on the border of the two shocks.

Oh, I forgot to ask, how difficult is it to change the shocks alone? I don't have anyone readily available to help. Yes, I know lots of cursing will be involved. lol
