I like the feel of a firm platform rather than on that moves easily...if I want it to move it will for a different foot position, normal riding it is solid rest for my feet.

Lot's of guys are comfortable with keeping their entire foot on the platform while up and down shifting, just having the platform move with their foot as they shift.

Different strokes.
What steps need to be taken to adjust the shift peg so that it's further from the foot peg? That sounds like something I would be interested in doing provided it doesn't require a great deal of work.

There is a threaded rod going from the shifter to the arm at the primary. Loosen both locknuts and turn the rod, this will make it effectively longer, moving the shifter further away from the peg. Tighten the locknuts back down with threadlocker.

Thanks Kevin I'll adjust this the first chance I get.

Thats what I thought on mine, and it would make so much sense to be like that. But all mine did when I attempted that was screw out of one eyebolt and into the other, no length change. I had to actually disconnect one eyebolt to be able to change the length.

Now that you mention it, I think I remember having to do the same!

So by disconnect you mean remove it from one eyebolt, adjust the length, then reinsert it into the other eyebolt again?

Nevermind I had to re-read the message but I got it now.
