Default Just bought a 2012 iron!

This is my first harley and I am in love with this bike. I have been shopping for a set of pipes and have narrowed it down to either ther v&h big radius or the bassani sweepers. Anybody have any experience with either set? I have read online the sweepers being really loud.

Congrats on the bike! If you have a wife/gf you'll push this thing out of the sun before you pull her out of a fire. Greatest love you'll ever experience! lol

Pipes are loud on these sportsters! Get what you like best looks wise and they'll be loud. I bought a pair of drag pipe slip ons before I even bought my bike and they're crazy loud with the baffles. Walking behind the bike will have you not hearing yourself talk.

Congrats, I picked up a '12 883 a few months back as well. No advice on the exhaust you're looking for, I ended up with Rush slip-ons, (link to pics)

Go on youtube and search for both set of pipes on an Iron. Even tho videos will not make the pipes justice, I will still give you an idea of how they sound like. Quality wise, I've only heard good things about V&H and Bassani.

I have looked at them on youtube and i like the sound of both. The v&h seem to be quite a bit deeper. I love the look of both so its really a toss up, right now i think im leaning towards the v&h just because I know they are top notch quality.

Congrats on your first HD & welcome to the forum!

If I only had a choice between the Big Radius or Sweepers, I would go with the flat black sweepers. They are both quality pipes...can't go wrong with either.

I just got back from my local HD dealership, and well... after two weeks of holding strong my will power finally caved. They gave me a 20% off parts credit when I bought my bike and so I used that on a set of the bassani sweepers. Between my truck and soon to be my bike my neighbors are going to really hate me. Out the door the pipes cost me 423.00

My wife has the v&h radius. She loves them. Very loud! Good luck with your bike, and be safe.

I was going to suggest the V&H short shots if you wanted a LOUD exhaust. Thats what I went with on my Nightster and they just sound evil!
