Can someone explain to me the transmission cover situation on these bikes? I'm looking at some visual mods and cover line makes a sweet see through derby cover and air cleaner. However the derby cover is 5 hole...... As are all of the decent looking ones I've found. Mine is 6. What bikes come with which hole patterns and is it possible/practical to convert?

Big Twins use a 5 hole. There is no conversion that I know of. Not only is the hole pattern different, the inside of the them is different, too.
These guys make some really nice parts for Sportsters, but I don't think they have a clear version:

Or something close to it. My friends 03 is 5 hole so I was hoping i could buy the case and derby from an 03 and be good to go. Long shot I know but my fingers were crossed

i would argue that each of us without bone stock bikes has at least $230 worth of questionable cool on our bikes.

Other than functional additions......I don't think I have $230 of "cool" on my bike.
