So dancing on the internet I see a bunch of people make there own white walls, clean the tire, apply the paint bam...has anyone here tried it? Also my 08 sportster is black...like black as Hell but the chrome spokes on the rims I was looking to paint black....has anyone done this...if so, got picks...thanks in advance for the help

Someone was telling me you can paint the tires with a clear coat to look armoralled but he's also full of **** in general...

 

I mean I bet both work, but for how long before it looks horrible??? For one you clean white walls (well my Dad did) with a sponge and bleach.... There goes your paint!

Paint and clear coat might look ok for a while but overtime the paint will get cracks due to the rubber flexing

 

use a quality exterior latex paint.. satin finsih looks best. clean the tires with denatured alcohol. take your time, get good coverage, and do several coats.

you'll replace the tire long before you'll repaint the white-walls. and a quart of paint will do a lifetime of tires. cleaning them with a little soap and water. you'll replace the tires before they get dingy.

 

Is quality exterior paint the name? I heard of guys using roofing stuff any ideas...thanks man looks like my next weekend project

 

Have you tried this with a good out come....and what is denatured alcohol?
