Keep or ditch the bags?

I used to do the "backpack-thing" all of the time when I first started riding, but got tired of always having the backpack with me. I like the function and look of saddle bags on a Sportster way more, I can just lock em up and walk away. I had a hard time fitting all of my crap into the Lick's Solo Bag. I think a Sporty with bags looks great, especially with white wall tires and some chrome, but that's just me.

See, now these are the type of no BS comments that people respect....no extra crap about how his opinion is better than yours or this an that.... XL50#674, I salute you for your honesty and true outlook on this subject!!

I put mine on for the utility aspect. Place to throw the long sleeve when it warms up, and keep gloves for just in case. If I need to get a few things from the store no big deal, fire up the scoot and go. I put stuff on my bike based on my needs, not what others like. FWIW, the Saddlemen shock-cut out bags are a good bang for the buck!

My wife had a Streetglide but wanted a Sportster because they are quicker handling and lighter bikes. We are currently building a Sportstour because we enjoy long trips and touring, not just riding to the local bar and back. I see nothing wrong with making a Sportster whatever you want it to be. to each their own but so far our Sportstour looks awesome ! I like the looks of bags on a Sportster.
