So I'd like to chop the rear fender and remove the brake light on my 07 883R but I don't know how to use the turn signal as running/turn/brake lights like the newer Sportys do. I've gone to three dealerships (Oakland, SF and Modesto) and I've gotten three different stories? Modesto says I have to get a module, housing and lights. SF says I need the module that comes with the new Sportys and do some rewiring, and Oakland says I can't do it because if I remove the brake light then the module will not work properly. Now I know there's got to be a thread on here explaining how to do this but I just couldn't find it. Has anybody with an 07 or earlier model removed their brake light and used the turn signals as running lights/brake/turn signals? And how? JC.

i just put one in my 2005 883c and it made the rear blinkers act as running, blinkers, brake lights.....plug and play makes it a breeze to install

just get a $25 tail light modulator for wiring up trailer lights http://www.ebay.com/itm/Valley-52222...#ht_3018wt_932.. it turns two tail/brake lights into L,R tail/brake/turnsignal lights. you use front dual filament turnsignals on the rear with red lenses

 

Awesome. I will look into both of those things. I've seen the Badlands Iluminator on ebay, I just wasn't sure if it would work if I got rid of the brake light all together. Definitely will look into that. Maybe I'll contact them. And trailer lights! That's f-in' genius. See, that's exactly why I come to this site. All good stuff. Thanks y'all.

 

On my 06 I did the Hd run,brake, module for $55. That's all you need. Keep in mind that ur rear lights are single filament. So they will work well, but won't be as distinct as the nightster, or as bright.
