Exclamation VOES uh oh

I think I may have taken the VOES line off my bike. When I took my stock tank off there was a hose that ran from the tank to the frame. It looked like a vacuum line so I took it off since the new tank doesnt have a fitting for it. Is this the VOES line or just a vacuum line for the tank????

My VOES line is T'd into the same line as the petcock vacuum. There is a vent line on the right hand side of the tank as well.

thats what i must have taken off it was on the right upper of the tank and ran down to the frame I wasnt sure if i needed it but since there was no fuel in it I thought it was just for gas flow. Can anyone confirm its just a vent line and not needed?

OK it wasnt the VOES it was the hose that used to vent the gas tank and if you over fill the tank it will let some gas out. So I didnt F up my bike yet. The HD manual and parts book are on their way.

That's just the tank breather, on CA bikes it goes to a vacuum valve and then on to a charcoal canister. On non-CA bikes I think it justs goes to the vacuum valve and then out to atmosphere.

I put a 1/4" valve cap on mine that I split with a razor knife so any buildup of pressure vents out.

Your new tank must have some type of venting system to prevent vacuum lock of the fuel flow.
