Default How much in parts & labor to install some apes?

So, I want some apes on my 08 xl1200c. But I've never changed a brake or clutch cable, so I think I should have a tech do it. I was wondering for those who have done it, what did it cost you in parts & labor to install a decent sent of apes on your bike? Post pics if you got them too!

It depends on the height, and if you want internal or external wiring, but you're looking at anywhere from $600 on the cheap end to $1200 or more.

A lot varies on what type of cables you get, how complicated the bars are to wire, etc.

Crap. That's a chunk out of the upgrade budget. I'm trying to bobber-ize my bike as much as possible for 1500....

learn to do it yourself. Use youtube to watch how they do it. Youll kick yourself if you find out how easy it is to change bars. Dont be scared its way easier than you probably think it is.

I have road6customs and the burly kit waiting to go on. Im scared to cut the wires myself, but my friend is going to internally wire them, and install for $200.

Im not scared of installing the easier stuff like air intake and exhaust, but wiring makes me hesitant.. Otherwise i would have had new bars for a couple weeks

With the Burly install kit you don't have to cut any wires. The wire extensions included in the kit simply clip onto the existing wire and then into the connector.
It's still a good idea to put a drop of solder on the clip connection and then heat shrink it to ensure it's a good, firm connection.

We put 12" mini apes on my wife's 08 1200 custom. All together it was around $560 including bars, wiring and labor at the dealership.
