Air Filter Housing dimensions
DK - Yes that was very helpful.
2nd question. It says that your Outlaw air filter assemblies are some of the narrowest out there. How far does it stick out from the body of the engine?
I ~hate~ the stock AC on my 2009 Nightster. It seems that my right knee is right at the point where the existing Stock AC is. It bothers the heck out of me. It seems like the bone in my knee is always rubbing up against it and really want to change it out. I love how my left knee can pull right up against the bike and I want that on the right side too.
I was going to go with the K&N forward pointing cone like the "63-1126", because at my height/leg length & I don't think my knee will hit it because its pointing forward. (I'm 5'7") I know your Outlaw air filter assemblies is just about 6" round which means it will protrude back a few inches more that the K&N, but I know nowhere like the Stock AC
Do you have the engineering drawings with dimensions so I can "mock up" something to see if its going to affect me -- or get me what I am looking for?
thanks in advance...

The outside cover measures 3 1/8" from the cylinder fins. The stock A/C is 4 1/4". Most aftermarket a/c's are close or wider than stock.
The Outlaw is 3" back from the center of the throttle body, the stock a/c is 5 1/2" back.
You might want to get the measurements on how far that elbow sticks out on the K&N at the throttle body, you might be surprised. Everybody is different, but my upper calf crosses the center of the throttle body with my forwards.

Hey DK, I installed your Outlaw 587 complete kit on my XL1200X this morning and accidentally sheared the head off one of the breather bolts. I was looking to buy a new one and saw you offer different sizes. What size should I be looking to get? Next time I'll be sure to pull the torque wrench out, my fault.

Yeah, 10-12 ft lbs is not a lot past finger tight. Better the bolt than stripping out the head threads!
3/4" is the size you need.
