Im glad I got on here. Im changing mine tomorrow morning and would have done what the manual said (3.6) and would have had a mess to clean up.

yes, my last 2 oil changes using standard harley filters were about 2.75 quarts as said above.

I have an 04 Custom and changed my engine oil and primary oil today. The engine oil definitely takes less than 3 quarts. I ended up at 2 3/4 quarts. Just make sure to wipe off the dipstick each time your checking.
