Default Shock differences by year

Does anyone know what the differences are in the shocks from year to year? I have a 2001 but am looking at putting on a set from a 2009.....will they work?

Yes they will bolt on. The differance may be the length. Do you want to go longer, shorter or stay the same?

Thanks Mike, I wasn't sure since there are different part numbers for the same style shock from Progressive.

I'm looking for 11" or shorter in black---maybe some Iron takeoffs.
