Default i need fuse help

i am not really a great electrician. i have an 01 883xlc.in the process of finding a short i blew the fuse for my headlights and running lights. i heard the fuse pop and assume it is 1 fuse but maybe i am wrong.I called the harley dealer and they are not willing to give any help in fixing the problem.( gives me lots of confidence in my local dealer). i dont see any fuses but i do see several circuit breakers and a fuse block. the inscriptions on the fuse block imply that there are several fuses inside but it appears to be sealed. do i have to buy a whole new fuse block? maybe the fuse i am looking for isnt even in there. i have never had to replace a fuse in any motorcycle before so any help i can get would be very helpful. thanks in advance for whatever help you can give me.

What's your owners manual say ? I'm not familiar with the 01 but on my 04 the fuse block is behind the left side cover.

i bought the bike used and dont have an owners manual. i know where the fuse block is and it is behind the left side cover. it appears to be a solid unit though, sealed which is why i asked if i have to replace the whole fuse block or does it open and have fuses inside?

there is a fuse block with four fuses under the left side cover. ignition, lights, accessory instruments. they are all 15 amp bayonet type (ATC?)

BTW service manuals are cheap. On Ebay you can get one for under $40
