Default HELP Bike not starting

So I just finished building my bike this winter. I probably rode about 150 miles with no glitches whatsoever. I go to start it the other night and this happened.

I turn the key, all the lights and speedo come on like normal, but as soon as hit the button to turn the bike over it makes a click noise and sparks at the positive terminal of the battery. All the lights go out and now if I turn the key off and on nothing lights up at all.
If I hook the battery up to tender for a short time the lights will come back on and then the same stuff happens all over again.

Part of my winter makeover was internally wiring the bars. My thought is that one of the wires is shorting out inside the bars and causing this.

What do you guys think? I just want to get some opinions before I have to pull those freaking wires back through to check them.

Thanks in advance

That's all it was? I was going to try cleaning both the terminals and see if that did anything. I just figured it couldn't be something that simple. I'll try that first.
