Default dummy lights making me look like a dummy

im relocating my speedo to the tank using an autometer bracket.. Im getting rid of the stock speedo clamp that houses the dummy lights and just replacing the handlebar clamp with a plain, regular clamp. I was going to stick the dummy lights on the new clamp with double sided tape.. problem is when i remove the stock speedo housing and try to screw the dummy lights ( clear plastic piece with icons on it, and small plastic piece that has the screw holes in it) back onto the piece with all the bulbs and what not.. there is a large gap now and the plastic icon piece will not be held down.. i know the gap is because i removed the stock speedo housing but im wondering what everyone else has done to fix this b/c i have seen people just tape the lights to their new handlebar clamp..

Please post some pictures, your description is quite confusing.

Did you also remove the smoked lens that covers the lights from the original speedo housing? It will come out if you gently push on the tabs from the inside...It will fill the gap in if I read your post correctly.. Just did mine this week..

I think that is what is confusing us in your description.. Or maybe I am more confused than the rest... Wouldn't be the first time...

He is talking about the way the indicator lights look assembled out of the handle bar clamp. You have a black top, black bottom and white center.
