Redline V-Twin Primary Case Oil?
I've been reading several threads about oil choices, and I've gotten lost in the distinction between Sportsters and the big bikes. In most of the oil threads I've looked at it's not clear who's talking about which oil for which bikes. Most threads seen to assume separate primary and transmission.
I went to the local dealer today and the parts guy told me that the oil tank on the right side of the Sportster is for engine and transmission and the primary case takes oil for the primary only. I thought I must have gotten confused until I got home, checked my manual, and verified that he was wrong, primary and transmission are together. <sigh>
Anyway, he recommended Redline V-Twin Primary Case Oil for the primary.
My question is, should I go back and replace the V-Twin Primary Case Oil with something else, or is that OK for '96 Sporsters primary/transmission?
