I got my first ticket when I was 15. Riding my Suzuki 250 on a registered road. I got off and didn't pay anything.

 

doesnt seem like cops are too interested in giving tickets to MC riders unless your on a rice burner and being an idiot. Not sure why.

 

I was alway told cops don't mess with bikers unless your being stupid.

 

A lot of cops ride Harleys.....think about it...I also don't want to brag...could be bad luck.

I have a neighbor that lives a block over from me. He is a local motorcycle cop, and has a personal UltraClassic and a Fatboy.

I've had several local cops, that are also Harley riders "help me out" over the last few months.

 

I have not yet... thank goodness. I hope it never happens.

Most of the LEO's that I have met always say they tend to leave HD riders alone. Usually due to the fact that HD riders are not riding at risk ofthemselve or other vehicles. Speeding is also a little overlooked as well. When it comes to the Rice rockets, yes they tend to pull them over more often due to the careless riding especially the wheelies and cutting in and out of lanes. Not to say all HD riders are perfect or immune from tickets, but it sure seems that they are way low on the radar screen.

 

I haven't had one on 2 wheels yet, I tend to be cautious. Back when I was a full time LEO, I would give 2 wheelers a break if I could, but I did have to ram one in a pursuit one time.

 

It's not rocket science. Don't do more than 10 MPH above the speed limit, dont blast around town in second gear if you have loud pipes. If you live in a small town like I do, wave to the cops when you see them. Tickets are earned, not justgiven.

 

Well i owned a 2003 CBR 600 F4i for 1.5 years and no tickets. (keep in mind, i got it when i was 20) and now i've had my 883R for 2 months and knock on wood, still none. respect the law and jonny law respects you.
