My father has a 2001 XL 1200 that he wants to swap the tank on. It has the stock peanut tank, but he wants to install a fat tank that wraps around the nose of the seat. He also wants to swap his speedo and tach into a dash similar to the style on Low Riders. Has anyone done any conversions similar to this? Pictures and advice on how you might have done something similar would be appreciated. Hoping to do this without having to spend $500-$600 on this (he is going to do his own painting). Thanks.
