Default Nightster travel bag

Hey guys, I have a few multi day trips planned this year so I need to look into luggage options for my nightster. I planned on mounting a small rear fender rack but i'm not sure what size or type of bag I should get. Any opinions??

I just bought a bag and did a lot of research. Well, I asked around and looked at a lot of reviews.

I was just looking for something big enough to store my lunch box, a jacket, and a pair of dress shoes for when I commute to work. I also wanted something cheap that had a strap to mount to my sissy bar. I wound up torn between the Dowco Iron rider, and the Saddlemen Deluxe Roll Bag (R1300XLE).

I went with the Saddlemen because it is expandable a bit wider, and it was a little cheaper. I got it a couple of weeks ago and paid $53 and some change. So far, it's been a great bag. I don't have a rack and have it mounted to my seat, but you could easily strap it to a rack.

I took a few pics that I posted on another forum, here it is mounted on my 2006 1200C...

Below shows it expanded:

There you go, don't know if this is what you are looking for, but I hope it helps. One thing that is nice about these bags is that you can buy a matching lower bag that is a bit bigger and attach the bag like I got to the top.

Don't buy kuryakan! I had a bag that snapped off during a trip and then some ******** stole it off the side of the road before I could get back to it. Their straps aren't sewn good and unless you bunny the hell out of it I wouldn't even bother. I head T-bags make a really good product. Plus the names great

I have a "T-Falcon Bag" that I put on a small fender rack on my Street Bob, that works well. I was thinking of using it on my Nightster too. (More of an over night bag)...

I use a large saddleman bad, (Will update with the exact model when I check) It has been all over the country without issue. Built in rain cover, LOTS of storage, several mounting options, best thing was I paid around $150 or so.

I like the looks of the saddleman bags. Both the r1300 and the ts1450 are good looking bags with good reviews. The ts1450 i think is designed for sport bikes but it still might look cool on the nightster. Thanks for the info guys.

Saddlemen Delux tail bag

I got one of these for my bike and it worked out very well. I did put it on top of my small tail bag so I didn't scratch the paint but you can simply put a towel down if you have a solo seat without anything on your fender. Quick on and off, looks good and holds a nice amount. I would recommend that you go without the rack with this bag. I read if you have the ones that only mount in the middle you can crease your fender with a heavy load. The harley ones that mount to the fender brace are better but cost quite a bit more.
