Default those that have put hardtail struts on ur sporties

What is your impression after riding around for a bit?

I've heard/seen a lot of people say it sucks and end up changing back, but then I see a lot of girls riding hardtail sporties. and an old dude at my work brought in his hardtail ironhead and I asked him and he just laughed and said he avoids pot holes.

i'm not asking to kill time, my finger is on the trigger right now to purchase the 10" biltwells, but having a lot of emotional turmoil over it.

I ran them for about 18 months, then quit. Most people on here have done it only to switch back. Free advice... If you do it, keep your old shocks... Don't sell them like I did. LOL

I see isee. SO its too rough on the body. What about for a person that just rides < 30 miles a day.

If you're only riding 30 miles a day, you should be fine. But if you decide to make a trip, i'd suggest putting shocks on for that. Just be careful at high speeds on sh!tty roads, pot holes become very sketchy.

Just keep in mind that rigid struts are a totally different ride than a hardtail frame. I've never ridden struts but I've heard they can be brutal without a spring seat of some sort.

We sell a LOT of Beefy Struts, and many of our Customers still have them on their bikes years later.

Most (not all) end up going with a solo sprung seat.

With a good solo sprung seat the ride will be smoother than with the stock shocks and seat. (potholes excepted-lol)

Later this month we are introducing a line of sprung solo seats.

After my Meztler rear tire wore out back In January I put on an Avon Speedmaster Mark II 5.00x16 with inner tube which has a taller sidewall. With the 11.5" Progressive 412s set on stiff and 1" lowering blocks I had the new Avon still rubbed the underside of the fender on every bump, so I put on a set of Biltwell struts I had laying around. After reducing the tire pressure to 22 psi the ride isn't too bad at all! I have ridden 2-up and the ride is pretty comfy at 30 psi according to my lady passenger (we took a small +12V air compressor on that trip to dial it in.) Yes, I do have to be a little more alert on bumpy roads, but it isn't as downright godawful horrible as I feared it would be. My avatar photo was taken back in December before the tire change; my bike now has a set of throw over saddlebags on it so the struts are pretty well covered up.

The Bottom Line: struts aren't too bad if you have a taller sidewall tire that can give.

looks + I want to chop + slam my rear fender w/o rubbing. I want to get firestone delux champions 5x16s. And plus the stock shocks are crap anyways. plus i want to relive the feeling of my days in prison, when my cellmate tyrone would embrace me.
