Hey everyone. I am looking to switch out my 12" Z Bars to some 16" apes on my Iron 883. I ordered the Z bars from Lick's with the 12" Burly kit and the cables were way too big. There seems to be enough room to switch to a 16" bar, do you think I would be able to pull it off? I really don't want to go through buying new cables again.

 

Oddly enough, I'm in the same situation and would be interested to see if this could be done. I'm concerned there wouldn't be enough excess cable.

 

I just ordered 14" bars w/12" cables cuz everybody says the Burly cables come way long. I guess y'all know that by now!!! Keep us posted on what you figure out.

 

I think they will fit. I have 13nz with internal wiring and the cables look fine. The Burley kit is pretty nice..I had Harley due a tune up thoe and now my throttle won't snap back like it used to, ie when I hooked it up. Not sure what that guy did but my throttle likes to stick even after I have tryed to get it back to where I set it. mmmmmm?

 

Had 14" Burlys with 14" cable kit and switched to 16" bars but kept the same 14" cable kit and it fit fine. Looks to me that it may be a close fit for you. I have a little room to play with but not much.

 

When I put some one-off 17" apes on my sporty a few years ago I got the 12" Namz wire extensions and they were plenty long enough.
