Default Key hard to remove.

My key seems to be getting harder and harder to remove from the ignition. Anyone have this issue before? I only have 1 key to try...need to have another one cut I guess.

Mine will do this once and a while. I'll put it in and it kinda sticks as it comes out. No big deal so far.

A little bit of graphite lock lubricant should solve the problem.

Default Part Of Regular Maintenance

Go to your local auto parts store and get some lock cylinder lubricant. Use it once or twice a season as regular maintenance.

Is your key relocated between the cylinder? I've heard of instances where the vibration causes the tumbler in the ignition to take a dump and could end up with the key stuck in the ignition. I know of a guy here locally who has had his key in his ignition for atleast 6 months because of this.

I relocated it behind the rear cylinder and wondered if this wasn't the cause. I'll keep an eye on it and might try some key lube of some sort.

Make sure it is a graphite and not a spray (liquid) lube. This only attracts more dirt and will make it even worse.

I used G96 for now and that did the trick! I used it because that is what I have always used in stick old locks and my trucks and have never used enough to worry about attracting debris. Then again I should probably do them more often like this. Mostly everything but the silicone evaps anyway. I went ahead and ordered me a new Willie G. key too. $60 for a f#king key...who pays these damn prices? Oh wait...
