Default Highway Pegs

I'm going to be mounting a set of highway pegs when it warms up a little bit and I wanted to ask if anyone that has mounted them already has advice?

It seems pretty straightforward, mount to engine guard(I have a square aftermarket one) in a place that I will be able to stretch my legs.

But with everything else I've done to my bike there always seemed to be a gotcha, which I've been lucky enough to avoid. Any gotcha's to something as simple as highway pegs?
